Devoted followers of the actress are calling for that a person who jumped a barricade and grabbed the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or removed from Singapore.
A circulating clip reveals the Australian man bypassing photographers and rushing toward Grande while the cast made its way down a yellow carpet flanked by fans.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the gathering by guards.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being detained", though court documents showed that he was scheduled to appear on the following morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed contains videos of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney performance in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last year.
"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is obviously a legal violation," wrote an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user wrote.
Several fans accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the end of her 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring many.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote another response on Instagram.
Several attendees also questioned guards at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while some called for online networks to ban Mr Wen's uploads.
In footage circulating online, Grande appeared surprised when she was approached by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by security.
Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.
Many of fans had gathered in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had waited for as long as eight hours before it started.
The motion picture, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the second of a dual adaptation of the well-known theatrical show Wicked, which focuses on the surprising relationship between two very different sorceresses.
The production itself is a adaptation of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.
They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of the previous year in the UK, and scored a dozen award recognitions, securing two for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
